In the State of
Florida three are three degrees of a felony crime which include:
punishable by up to
a $5,000 fine, five (5) years prison and/or probation;
2nd degree felony:
punishable by up to a
$10,000 fine, fifteen (15) years prison and/or probation;
1st degree felony:
punishable by up to $15,000
fine, thirty (30) years prison and/or probation.
Felony criminal charges are
crimes which are of a more serious nature than that of a
misdemeanor crime. Accordingly, the fines, penalties, and impact
that a felony conviction have upon your life are significantly
greater than that of a misdemeanor conviction.

A felony conviction could have a serious impact upon
your life. From the loss of your civil rights, which include your
right to vote, your ability to sit on a jury, and your right to own,
use, or possess a firearm, your right to own a passport, and so on.
A felony drug charge that results in conviction may also result in
an immediate two-year suspension of your privilege to drive.
Convicted felons are often prohibited from employment
in occupations involving the handling of money or valuables. A
felony conviction can also be a significant stumbling block if you
later decide to pursue a professional discipline field of
employment, such as medicine, nursing, teaching, real estate,
financial services, or practicing law. If you are already licensed
in a particular discipline profession, a felony conviction could
result in a review of your "character and fitness", jeopardizing
your ability to continue to work in that field.
